Proof that racism is alive and unwell

Went for a late lunch at the drive-thru at my local wendy's. Nothing unusual other than it was about 3 in the afternoon. Lady (if you can call her that) took the order and money but told us that we'd have to drive up a bit and she'd bring the food out to us. So we drove the van up past the window and bit and 2 cars later, she brought the food out. I was tired and wearing long sleeves (yeah, I wasn't prepared for the weather today) and in the 80 degree weather, I was tired so I wasn't paying too much attention when she brought the food.

But I noticed that she was smirking. Immediately I knew she'd done something with the food. I live in South Carolina. They're still fighting the Civil War down here. I'm not a racist, but I'm white and the smirking girl was black.

2 hours after eating the food, Mom had trouble in the bathroom and I was ready to throw up. We couldn't prove they'd done anything to the food mind you, and by that time we were absolutely starving so we'd already eaten it.

Wanna know what they put in it? Dishwashing liquid.

Be glad it wasn't worse.

Wanna know how I know? First, I felt like I was gonna throw up, but didn't. Then I felt like someone had put something in my stomach that had foamed up and started to expand in my stomach and up my esophagus. I started spitting a bit and got a towel. After lots of spittles (sometimes a bit foamy), I noticed that it smelled similar to the way some of the kitchen towels do after you dry your hands in them after washing the dishes. I've had lots of water and a good dinner but I've still got lots of foamy stuff in me. And it HURTS! It's been hard to breathe at times! It really hurts! I've also had other specific pains in my head and throughout my body. I'm on rx medication so I was very worried about interactions for a bit and I actually had some nerves going off involuntarily while having one of those headaches. The soap musta been travelling thru my system at that time.

I went thru some racist bullsh*t in middle school but I didn't go thru anything like this (that I can recall) until today. Call it a hate crime if you like, but it would be your words and not mine. Just thank God it was dishwashing liquid and not something *really* hurtful like something that could potentially hold a virus.

So if you think it can't happen to you or someone you know or in your hometown -yep, that's right- think again.

Think of that ad for that Draino foamer stuff, or the powdery stuff they give you for a barium swallow only it's soap and painful. I can actually feel the texture of this stuff from time to time but not the taste. Nasty.
