RASSM rules my page
Almost 3 times or more a week, I try to work on fixing the bug in the RASSM link. Whenever you hover over it, the text gets bold and it pushes all the other cells over to the right. It moves the page in other words. That peeves me. So I shrunk the font size of the link by one and guess what happened? It made the page move in the other direction!!! >:-P~
I've tried 100s of times to try and fix this and there is NO explanation. There are other and longer links that don't do this, and there's no way to make the cell any bigger to compensate for "maybe there isn't enough room?" factor, but do any of my fixes so far actually work? NO.
Well, I'm about out of ideas and I cannot explain this. Maybe there's some unknown RASSM influence thing going on here? Well, until I figure it out and acutally fix it, the template layout is pretty much going to be dictated by the RASSM link. So in that sense, RASSM does rule my page...or rather my blog. ACK! EEP! ARGH!

Doc Yoda?
I've got the Yoda cover for the AOTC soundtrack and I was just wondering if y'all saw it too. It looks like Yoda has Doc Brown's hair.

same hairdresser?
Yeah, that's all we need...Yoda piloting a flying Delorean. <thinks about this> Nah... hey, why is Duel of the Fates in the AOTC soundtrack?

Attack of the Clones...it's begun!
I put off ET just for this! I REALLY want to hear this famous 'love theme' that others have been crying over.
<takes sigs out of Puffs box cuz it'll probably be needed>
Man, I *NEVER* listen to the soundtrack before I see the movie! Going spoiler-free for EP3 will be VERY difficult...
Anyway, thanks to a freak and first-time certain accident with my headphones (and the absense of toilet paper), I got to go to Wal-mart today and I went looking for the figures and stuff since I know they're out. It took me forever cuz I went to the 'normal spot' and I COULD NOT FIND THEM! From my one viewpoint, I looked down the aisles and still didn't see them...oh the Love Theme is on!!!
<-time out->
Ooo! A HARP! This is SO close to a real classical piece! Aw...it's over. One or two chills, but no spills. :-( It'll grow on me more when the movie comes out so no biggie there. But that was VERY close to a real classical piece! I have a cd of classical music that's been a staple my whole life and I'd feel very comfortable with the Love Theme being one of the tracks. It'd be out of place cuz it's Star Wars and there are hints of Imperial themes in there, but it's still VERY classical. I'm impressed. Lemme go thru the whole thing a few more times and then I'll go back to it.
Well, like I was saying about the figures, it finally dawned on me to look at them from the opposite side, and sure enough there they were...on the exact opposite side of the exact same wall! WOWSERS!!!! I got me a Yoda, a hot rod car, and a purple lightsaber. Thanks to my compulsive figure-shopping that I did for TPM, I now have...WOAH! AN ELECTRIC GUITAR!!!!!...a better idea as to which figures/characters may be harder to find than other later, and which ones I'd like to have because I really want them, and not because they're there.
I must say that overall, I really don't like...Oooo but I DO like this track #3 tho!!! African drums and clappings!! COOLNESS!!!! ME LIKES!!!...ok what I don't really like are the figures this go-round. They seem less lifelike actually...GUITAR AGAIN!...than TPM's. I hated the package designs from the SW.Com previews, but I didn't figure (heh- that pun *not* intended) that I wouldn't like the figures. :-( Well, maybe that means I'll buy less this go-round. I really don't want most of them anyway...and least not *now*. What I DO want are as many of the Jedi as I possibly can get. I definately want Jedi!!!!
I got myself the purple "run-of-the-mill-cuz-its-blade-is-smaller" lightsaber. The blue ones were a darker blue, and the green ones look like they're on the turquoise side. They don't light up, but they clip to your belt. Oh and this is odd- they have a red one too. RED'S SUPPOSED TO BE ONLY FOR SITH! WHY IS IT LABELED WITH THE JEDI SABERS?!?! Well, if it's rare, I probably should've gotten it too (but what the hell would I do with it?)...Ooo! That bit sounded like Journey to the Center of the Earth!!!
<drooooooooooooooooooooools>
<Jedichu joins in droolfest>
...but I didn't have much on me.
I got the hot rod car so that's now 3 vehicles my figures have to play with: a TIE fighter, Darth Maul's speeder, and the Jedi hot rod car. <Hot ROddish gets a little too excited> Yep, wesa gonna have some major traffic trouble around here!
<Hot ROddish drives hot rod thru a stack of papers on RH's computer desk and sends them flying everywhere>
"I hate it when he does that." ;-)
Hey cool, Dad's up here listening too! He's SO cool! He actually likes a lot of the same music that I like and I've gotten him hooked on a few of my favs. I got the track 3 playing again so he can hear the drums and electric guitar.
<Hot ROddish floors hot rod and narrowly avoids hitting my guitar in order to narrowly avoid hitting Dad>
Excuse me, I got some damage control to do...come here my little Oddi- AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH RUNAWAY CAR!!!!

ET & Yoda
I saw ET first and I thought back then that Yoda must be a similar species from ET's homeworld, and to this day, I still think of them as cousins. When the electronic Yoda came out, I got it, but I didn't get the electronic ET. I sorta wish I had, but the Yoda is actually Mom's.
I bought the ET 20th Anniversary soundtrack and the Yoda-covered Attack of the Clones soundtrack today!!!! I'm still hung-up on listening to the last 2 tracks on the ET one because I've waited and longed for most of my life to have the bike chase and the end credits to ET on tape or cd or something! To this day, ET is still the best overall soundtrack to any movie I have ever heard and ever since I hit my teens and started to tear up from movies and stuff, I always choke up at certain parts of ET because of the music.
<RH's sigs say that RH is a real wimp>
Man, i'ts not enough to listen to this on my cd player, I gotta put this on the stereo!!!!
<sigs sigh and say 'there she goes again'>
AH! LISTEN TO THAT BIKE CHASE!!!!
<sigs get out the .sigcycles and race all around RH's room>
PURE ADRENALINE BABY!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!
<Pennysig gets a running start on its .sigcycle and does a ski-jump off of the back of RH's monitor and perfectly times it with the music>
I remember desperately wanting to learn how to ride a bike after seeing that movie
<ng sig, Gaksig, and Puffsig all ride in and around RH's fingers to piss her off>
Man, here's the part where ET and Elliot are saying 'goodbye'. Awww If only I could also take up the French Horn and beg to join John Williams's orchestra!!!
<SithWar sig, Sithsig, DarthDoc sig, and Kicking sig all honk their .sigcycle horns and ring their .sigcycle bells in RH's ears...LOUDLY>
Those triumphant horns after ET says "I'll be right here", don'tcha just wanna bust out in emotion?!?! Man, that makes me want to cry!
<sigs all start to mock RH and sob pathetically while snickering>
<RH stuffs sigs into a full box of Puffs>
Oh here it comes...here it comes...YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sobsobsobweepweeepweep I need a kleenex!!!!! Oh those drums! Woah man, how can that NOT get to ya?!?!
<sigs confirm that RH is a wimp- a total 'emotional soundtrack' WIMP!>
On a serious note (pun half-intended), and on an even more emotional one...oh wait here comes the rainbow and final shots music!!!...horns & drums & strings!!!!! <doubles over in emotion>
<sigs try desperately not to snicker and try even harder not to choke up>
Ok I'm okay- oh it's on the credits now gimmie a minute...okay. I mean, God must be great indeed if he can bless somebody (several somebodies) with the talent to write something like that and to have it come about! I mean come ON! Man I hope there's music in Heaven!
<sigs agree too and blow their noses...they finally got emotional on the closing credits music>
I may never get to the AOTC soundtrack at this rate...

April 23
For the longest time, I've had a thing for this day of the year...and for the life of me I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT IS!!!! There's just something about "April 23" when it's written out like that that gives me the feeling that this particular date is supposed to mean something to me. I have NO idea what. Is it an anniversary of some event I should remember? Someone's birthday I forgot? Did I go somewhere important on an April 23rd? What?!?! I don't know!!!
All I know is that "April 23" looks good. It's just a pleasing mass of letters and numbers to look at. I have no idea why April 23 should mean anything to me. Maybe later off in my life I'll make it my wedding date or something and give it a meaning. I don't know...yes, I'm weird.
Here's another thing that's weird about it, "April 23 1994" also looks very pleasing to the eye as a date. So what the hell happened on April 23, 1994 that I would want to remember it or to think that it looks good when written out?! I mean, I know why "August 29 1997" is important, but derned if I know why "April 23 1994" is!!! <insert majorly weird "duh I dunno" sound here>
So I'm always wondering about this date whenever I see it, and whenever it rolls around, I'm half-expecting some great even to take place...just for some reason to make the date significant (or .significant).
But something tells me that taking a med being promoted by a sleeping acidic monster doesn't exactly qualify...

Bedbugs on acid
Okay not really but close enough. The doc has had me switch the meds I take for my acid reflux disease today and I feel awful no thanks to the side effects. The awful feeling is offset (at least somewhat) by the absurdity of medication's little spokescreature.

zzz...not exactly the chesire cat
Here's what I wrote in my a-blog about the stuff:
"The box is pretty silly too- it's got a pic of a sleeping monster on it. Uh...I thought this medication was for acid reflux disease. Not for making your bedbugs fall sleep."Perhaps all the stress of finding folks' jobs at Monster.com got to them? ;-) Anyway, you can now identify a box of Protonix.

Sunshine...on my chocolate...makes it melty
That's my poor John Denver imitation. Got word today that I don't have to do the bland diet anymore if I don't want to (YIPEEEE!) so I had myself some chocolate today! Stopped at Zesto's and got one of their famous cones today. Also popped in a few Springtime Oreos when I got home.

aww...aren't they cute?!
Mom's got a thing for smileys, I've got a thing for chocolate. :-D Altho I have to wonder if the yellow filling is really pollen...

The Great Conjunction
Or something similar to that. For the next few weeks, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn are all gonna get together for a little powwow in the north western sky. Seats are not reserved so they'll play musical chairs nightly, but they'll finally come together around May 4 for their big poker night. If they survive, they'll start to break up the party and go home again.
Here are 2 articles about the big insterplanetary shindig: A Spring Pas de Cinq & "Nando Times"
No the world won't be coming to an end over the next ew weeks, at least not on account of the planets. Altho if you feel like it, *I* certainly won't stop you from proofing your house against Sketsis or Gelflings.

I'd always like to give credit where it's due, but for the life of me, I'm usually not at my blog when I find some stuff that's good, and I usually file the blog's url away somewhere before I write down what it was I need to credit them with. Like that weird error page. I cna't remember what blog I found it thru. But the useless blob I found thru itsoundsfishy.blogspot.

Poor blobs that they have to be labeled as 'useless' :-( Let's think of what we can have the blobs do!

<sigh>...not AGAIN!
First off- I am NOT a racist. Remember that.
It's happened again here in my state- somebody's bitching about the Confederate Flag. This has always either perplexed me or royally pissed me off. Today, someone got a ladder and reached up to the Confederate Flag on display outside the Capital building and set it on fire- right there on the flagpole. Come to think about it, the visual is rather funny, but the issue is beyond sanity by now.
For the LONGEST time here in South Carolina, the NAACP has been complaining about the Confederate Flag being on display at the Capital building. Most people never even noticed it until they started complaining about it. I, for one, couldn't care less...at least not until recently. The ONLY opinion I have regarding the issue is that the NAACP should shut the hell up about it.
Now, before you get upset, let me tell you what's going on right now:
Last year, both the NAACP and flag supporters agreed to a compromise: the flag would be taken down from the capital dome and moved to a display on the grounds. Within mere months after this was accomplished, the NAACP started complaining that there was a Confederate Flag on the State House grounds! <boggles> Histroy and racism aside- the issue is that the NAACP AGREED to have the flag be put there. So why the hell are they complaining about it now?! They AGREED to allow the thing to be there, so they have no right to complain about it being there! Somebody's going back on their word here, and it isn't the flag supporters.
What makes me sick about this is that:
1. the NAACP is going back on their word
2. the media is giving WAY too much attention to the damn flag and not to more important things like our ghastly education system or Medicare
3. the NAACP is being very immature and stupid in the way they are handling this whole thing
If the NAACP wants to elimiate racism, they're gonna have to choose a different method. The NAACP more or less represents the entire Black community in SC as far as the media goes, and the media goes everywhere. Whatever the NAACP does, it reflects more or less on each and every Black person living in the state, which means if the NAACP is gonna do something that gets everybody all pissed off, then people are gonna look at not just the NAACP with distain, but the entire Black community. Say an Earthling goes to another planet and behaves badly in front of the aliens who live there- the aliens are going to think that all Earthlings are gonna believe that all Earthlings behave just as badly or worse.
Now what the witnesses may then believe about the whole of the represented populace dosen't make it true, but when you're the one setting the example, the way you come across to others is every bit as important as the message you are trying to convey.
So down here, the NAACP is going back on their word about allowing the Confederate Flag to be on display. And today someone (I dunno if they were NAACP or not, but this proves my previous point either way) goes and burns it. They do something illegal and they get arrested. Good, he did something illegal so he should get arrested for it. But the whole thing is a joke. Earlier this year, the NAACP decided to hold a boycott on tourism as a protest to -what else- the Confederate Flag. The way in which they encouraged this boycott was also in an illegal manner- they all stood outside of the welcome centers with signs when it's posted all over the place that they are not allowed to do that. Was anyone arrested? No! I don't get it.
But more importantly, the NAACP is encouraging people to not spend money in SC which means that SC gets less money from non-residents, which means that we pay higher taxes and that even then, there is less money to fix our schools, feed the underpriviledged, and fewer jobs because no one is buying anything that anyone is selling. Now that's just plain stupid. I know there are some very wonderful and wise folks in the NAACP, but as a whole they're shooting themselves (and everyone else) in the foot with this.
Why do they do this? It boggles my mind. Remember, I am not a racist, but I am getting tired of things like this happening and I can honestly say that I am not alone (Black or White) in feeling this way.
If the NAACP wants to discourage racism, then they should reach out by doing POSITIVE things and not NEGATIVE things. The Confederate Flag issue has long since been beaten to death and is most definately a negative issue. I say leave it the hell alone. You wanna discourage racism? Then stop whining and complaining and trying to get the government to listen to it because when it comes right down to it, the ones you have to worry about aren't the *government* but *your fellow man*, the people who you live with on a daily basis and the regular people who are influenced by the media. You wanna discourage racism, talk with (not to) them and get on their good side. By continuing on the path you are now, you're only getting on their bad side. Stop it. Be mature about it and you'll be heard. Until then, I won't feel the least bit sorry for you. I hate to say it, but there it is.
I am not a racist and I do not hate the NAACP or Black people in general. I really don't. What I strongly dislike is the way in which they are conducting themselves. It's often said that if you want to change the world, you should begin with yourself. I think it's high time they did this. If they want to dispell hatred, then they themselves should not be hateful...and especially hateful about everyone else being hateful. It does go both ways after all, and so far everyone's in a deadlock because everyone's being highly hypocritical.
I honestly don't know if this whole thing will ever resolve itself, but until I see some major effort here, I will continue to cringe every time I see and hear that something like what happened today has gone down because I'm sick of this neverending hoopla. I really do hope that racism will disappear, but until then, I'll just have to hope that I have a mute button handy next time the media talks about the Confederate Flag. Racism and hatred aren't a flag, they're a way of being- of thinking, of acting, of doing, of representing, of believing, and of atmosphere. And right now, we're only seeing more fuel being added to the fire and just about nothing being done to extinguish if.
Now don't get me wrong, the media is every bit as much at fault over this whole thing...but I'll leave that particular commentary for another time.

ATAIR
Remember that acronym cuz you're gonna see it around a lot in my postings (I think...I hope). ATAIR joins WASS, AFN, imcdLLL, 3L, SWC, and VRS as another one of my webpages!!! <cheers> I've been working on this thing for 9 months (no pregnancy jokes okay) and tonight I finally launched the thing!!! ATAIR stands for Almeida Theatre: Articles, Information, & Reviews...you'll see the link to the lower left there. It's the sister site to imcdLLL (or "3L"), that's Ian McDiarmid: Large List of Links, and as you can probably tell, Ian's one of my favorite actors! :-)
I guess I should give you the acronym list here (why not? I do that on AMWA all the time):
WASS = Weird Al Site Spectrum
AFN = AMW-A For Newbies
imcdLLL or 3L = Ian McDiarmid: Large List of Links
ATAIR = Almeida Theatre: Articles, Information, & Reviews
SWC = Sith War Characters
VRS = Various RASSM Stuff
the newsgroups are:
AMWA or AMW-A = alt.music.weird-al
RASSM = rec.arts.sf.starwars.misc
AFP = alt.fan.palpatine
AFJ or AFJP = alt.fan.jigglypuff (thanks to DG for the last one)
Whew! You think that's a handful, go check out TWAAL (a twice-monthly AMWA FAQ done by yt, RH).
I'll finish making ATAIR functional tomorrow. Hardest part's gonna be the banner methinks. ;-)

Sith at Work
Wow that was a bit harrowing. Something in the coding for the birthday post screwed up and I had to enter safe mode for the first time on Blogger. I don't think I've ever had that particular bad piece of coding plague me on Blogger before. Mabye there was a little Sithly influence? ;-P (kidding)
Anyway, this post *was* a duplicate post of the birthday one (obviously edited), and guess what? This one originally screwed up too! AND with the same problem! Hmm...anyway, -ed. is going nuts over this right now and Ianpuff is loving every moment of it! ;-D

Titanic R.I.P.
I first became fascinated with the ship when I was really young and I first saw A Night to Remember. I saw lots of specials and gained a couple of books. By the time James Cameron put in his two cents, I was a Titanic enthusiast. Of course it's tragic that so many died (rest in piece y'all), but I also find the series of events that lead up to the disaster and all the different elements involved to be very interesting. My only grievence with Cameron is that he didn't portray Molly Brown to be the unsinkable heroine that she really was once she got into the lifeboats. Cameron- FIX THAT SCENE!!!

swim for it!
Alright, alright I know it's a male manequinn, but I didn't have any other way to model le Coeur de la Mer this year.

Fear Factors
Interesting sermon today, pastor talked about fear and about not doing good things just to "be seen". Something this town needs to hear. But his Fear Factor mention was a little off; he's only seen less than one full show and I've seen several. At least the reference jivved with the second half of the sermon -boy did it- cuz it made no sense at the beginning. I talked with him about that afterwards, but I still think it's cool how that even tho it didn't jivve earlier, it did later. Cool! :-)
But none of you go off and drink blood on Fear Factor now. Awful show that is...I'm amazed people haven't made more of a fuss about it. I think the show's despicable. Don't care what Çheetah! says (sorry Çheetah!)...

Meow meow meow meow...
What does it say when I can tell that they've changed the melody to the Meow Mix commercial? Or rather, why'd they change the melody in the first place? The first few bars are intact, but the middle and end are all wrong. Why mess with something so great and wonderful?
I remember when the school chorus actually convinced the teacher to let us sing the Meow Mix theme for warm-up a couple of times. It was better than singing the word "Ohio" over and over.

NO *I* didn't do anything outrageous, and I was too busy upgreading to Agent to go really look around to see what kind of website April Foolery was going on today, but apparently TFN did something (possibly involving N'Sync).
I remember last year when StarWars.Com changed their layout to DOS-like circa 1980. Then there was this year that WeirdAl.Com and Al-oholics Anonymous traded places.
I couldn't find any of it in the Wayback Machine tho. :-(
