RIP Jerry Orbach
We are **H-U-G-E** Law & Order fans in this house and Jerry Orbach's (Det. Lennie Briscoe) death came as a surprise. He was shooting the 4th Law & Order series (Trial By Jury) and given how it's Wednesday, it's Law & Order night. We miss the guy already and I downloaded (legally) the extended Law & Order Theme tonight. Just as well it's a blues-genre piece (thematic element aside). How appropriate.

Napster
Well it's happened: I'm now downloading music legally. It's interesting what I can and can't find on the legal channels. I can't find some of the rareities, but I *can* find a couple of albums that I've been trying to track down for ages in the stores (musta sold out years ago and I was late converting to cd).
Bring those gift cards on cuz I ain't using credit!

New Peeve
I have a new pet peeve and now that the Christmas part of the Holidays is over, I can rant freely without spoiling my fun.
Now I don't know if this is just a local thing where I am or if it's nationwide (I hope not!) but whenever we hear schools doing songs on the tv (as they do during this time of year), they've started an alarming trend. They've started taking *Christmas* songs and taking the word "Christmas" out and inserting stupid stuff like "swinging Holidays" in its place. I kid you not: instead of performing "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" they now wish us a swinging holidays! Now I know they're trying to be PC and/or incorporating all of the ohter holidays together but FOR GOODNESS' SAKE! IF YOU'RE GOING TO INTERGRATE ALL OF THE HOLIDAYS INTO ONE SONG THEN INVENT A *NEW* SONG AND DON'T MUTILATE THE CENTUREIES-OLD CHRISTMAS SONGS IN ORDER TO DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!
*whew* Thank you.
