Bluggers' Blog
There, you see? I *do* make good my threats on occaision. Altho it's in its VERY early stages, I did spend a good 5 days getting the template started and now I've got part of it up and running. Here's the link for those of you who like to get in early:
AHA-aaaaaaaaa! :-D You didn't really think I'd put the link up without getting my counter up first now did ya? hehehe Don't worry, you'll get the link later. Only if you reeeaaallly want it. >:-D
And no the Bluggers' Blog is nothing like the Mummers' Dance but for some reason, the name of that song did come to mind more than once for some strange reason.

Eh, no one's answering anyone's questions in that forum yet so I may not be back until tomorrow then. Of course, one reason they may not be answering is that they wouldn't let me use "Rainbow Heron" as my posting name there. ;-P Oh well.

The Blug
Say "Hi!" to my little blug:

that mischevous little blugger...
Inspired by today's events...and my boredom. Meet the Blug. Maybe I should stick him next to the Useless Blob?
That's blog + bug = blug. A blug is a quite simply a bug in the blogging universe. I think the Blug needs his own blog...maybe. ;-)

Blugs?
Just posted a question in the discussion forum. I'm trying to imagine what a blug would look like. :-D Blog bug that is. "Oh no! My blog has a bug!" "Ew, gross. I hate blugs and slugs!" Hehehe :-D
Ok so my couch doesn't appreciate that last one but I'm only joking. Hey, I need a break anyway. Maybe I'll go draw a blug! :-D

Testing testing...
Not only am I trying to get that page full of all the online quizzes I've come across so far as a blogger (no I have not taken them all and yes I do intend to post or at least link to my results)...
But I'm having a bit of trouble trying to change a few things in the template (like being able to link to that page) since YACCS upgraded their stuff and now they put something in my template code. I posted the weird error in the previous post both as a test post and because I didn't have anywhere else to put it and my clipboard was about to be occupied by something else.
I guess we'll figure this out sooner or later.
<"just like that Cute FTP Pro problem?" -ed.>
Don't even try me on that one now -ed. Don't even try.

Anyone know what this is? Got it after trying to change some things in my template after the YACCS upgrade. Weird.

Nightlight? Don't need it.
I guess you could count this and the green goo post as moving stories so here we go, back to this one:
I've always had a nightlight in my room in one form or another. It used to be the one with the blue bulb in it, and then we moved it into the hallway and I'd keep my door open. Now, when we moved down South, a strange phenomena occurred: in each and every house we've lived in down here, my bedroom window has been on the receiving end of the streetlights at the edge of the lawn.
First time, I had the weaker part of the streetlight's light and so had a white night light in my room (the better to see the large garden spiders with <::shudder::> ick) and the blue nightlight in the hallway. When we moved across town, my bedroom got the full treatment of the streetlight, the treatment of the neighbors' motion-detection outside lights (scared the sh*t out of me one night in particular) and of course, the full-blown treatment of the full moon: thru BOTH windows! And I had a corner bedroom with one window on each side on that one. Blue nightlight still in hallway. But now I've also got a clock radio with bright red lighting to worry about (the glow-in-the-dark handtips of my original wind-up clock never did much in this realm).
Then we move to this town. <pause for rude noises and rolling of the eyes>
First house, again the streetlamp is directly in front of my window, but worse, all of the high-beam headlights from the people who are coming home from the air force base at all hours of the night totally fill my room up. So we closed the blinds (duh)- didn't help. So then we put some thick white sheets over the window- didn't help. So then we bought a very large darkish purple tie-dyed blanket- that pretty much does it. And of course we have the nightlight in the hallway...and the bathroom directly across the hall. Blue nightlight in hallway as bright as ever. Also the clock radio.
Then we move into the house we've now just moved out of. When I slept downstairs briefly (and no I didn't sleep down there first), we blocked the one window with thick lawn & leaf bags, but we still had the blue nightlight in the hallway...and the red lights of the clock radio. In the morning, we got sunlight. In the evening, we got Dad's computer monitor (these were the days when he never turned it off).
When I slept upstairs the first time, I had -you guessed it- the streetlamp shining directly into my window! Plus the red lights from my clock radio. But now I also have a computer with a light display of one red light which flutters, one green light which is like a beacon, and a weird 2-digit green display that turns the room into daylight. Any and all attempts to block it had bad results. Blue nightlight remained downstairs and on the other side of the house.
When I slept upstairs the second time, I still had the streetlamp, the clock radio, the computer (we finally unplugged that useless digital display- but now I got 2 cd drives that like to blink at me), and now a vcr and a cable box. When we got me a printer, we got this funky extension cord with a glowy orange plug that shines brighter than the streetlamp. The streetlamp must have gotten jealous cuz it decided to start turning on and off at all hours of the night whenever it felt like it. So basically the streetlamp is blinking at me in slow mo. ...Y'know it really said something when I started getting upset when the steetlamp actually blinked OFF. :-P
Then I got my stereo which has a red light that never turns off. Then I got a surge protector to accomadate all the millions of plugs so of course that has a light- so does the ups. Then there's also the intercom in case I get so sick I need help. And let's not forget how often the electric blanket or heating pad were on (another light apiece).
Blue nightlight was still downstairs on the opposite side of the house, altho the neighbors' motion-detector outside light started being more of a problem.
And do I really need mention what happened when it rained and there was lightening?
Now we're in *this* house. I still got my clock radio, a new streetlamp in front of my window, the 2 cd drives, the smaller blinking computer lights, the surge protector, the ups, the stereo, the vcr, the cable box, the occaisional use of the wierd glowing extension cord plug (with its cousin in my bathroom)...most everything still shines their lights in my general direction no matter where I put them, and most of them still have lights on after you've turned the appliance OFF. What the fuck's with THAT?!
Well, the blue nightlight hasn't been "unpacked and plugged in" yet and with my room now being the smallest it's been since age 4, the head of my bed is now directly underneath my window and the clock radio faces me when I turn over.
Now, the problem, as stated in my last post, is where do I put the glow-in-the-dark Cross (that has the green stuff on the bottom of it to keep it steady)? Well, I've had only a few of glow-in-the-dark stars/ snowflakes/ necklace/ other Cross in my room at various times before, and now I have a glow-in-the-dark remote control (for the new vcr, but it's still another light) which has to stay on my bedside table...
Um...
I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'd make a TERRIBLE air raid warden, so please, don't nuke the air force base. Thanks!
I also have way too many little lights in my room so please don't give me any more. Thank you. MUCH obliged on that last one there.

Return of the Green Goo
It's not Play-Doh. It's not Silly Putty. It's not snot. And it's certainly not C'Pi's green sh*t...
So what the heck is it?
I don't know. It's this weird sort of clay I found in a tin over 10 years ago and it has the amazing ability to be left out in the open for years at a time and still retain its original properties. It never dries out, it never hardens into something you can't smush, it stains your hands, and weirdest of all, when you pick it back up after leaving it out in the open for several years, one or two quick smuches, and it's like brand new.
I don't know what it is, but it's sure weird. And I've been using it to stick my glow-in-the-dark Cross to my clock radio for a few years now. I only liberated it from the Cross today cuz, well...I missed the stuff. I also needed to reattatch the Cross or at least put it somewhere else* after this move, so naturally I had to handle the stuff.
It's odd, but it's lovable.
...
...
Man, I miss Gak. How come they don't make that stuff anymore? This green goo is resiliant yes, but it can't make fart noises. Goodness knows Gaksig's been trying to encourage it.
* I need to keep it someplace else due to all the 'little lights' in my room.

Happy Fourth of July!!!
Having no fireworks or fireworks buddies this year, I decided to wear a red shirt, white socks, blue jeans, and the American flag bandana I got not long after September 11.
It's one of the rare times when I was able to walk around and have the entire gang salute me everytime they saw me.
<ng sig, Pennysig, Gaksig, Kicking sig, Sithsig, DarthDoc sig, Puffsig, AMWA sig, .sigerette tree, Seanpuff, Ianpuff, Hamillpuff, Ewanpuff, Hot ROddish, PeterPika, Jedichu, Wiggly-tough, Headless Horseman, Artie the Rainbow Trout, and yes even -ed. all salute flag on RH's head>
I couldn't find that website background that was the american flag, so I guess you'll have to find your own bandana-headed person to salute instead. ... hey...wait a sec... considering the other 2 folks who come here, I'd say I'm a little behind my game in finally figuring this piece of power information out.

If this is tripping, burn my suitcase cuz I don't wanna go.
Hey Gumby, some support for cold medicine trips- or rather unexpected trip in general. I wasn't gonna mention this on the newsgroup cuz it's kinda public y'know. ;-)
Over-the-counter medicines never did anything weird to me except for Benedryl which used to give me nosebleeds as a youngin' when I took 2 teaspoonfulls. BUT some of this weird stuff the docs have given me for other reasons (you still read ablog right?), well, this is for you and for anyone else who reads this blog- rhblog:
When I went to the emergency room cuz of a bad hemi-plegic migraine, they gave me dope. Now, a hemi-plegic migraine means you can't move and you can't feel anything. Now, the parts of me that *could* still feel stuff at that time, started going limp and numb on me to the point where I couldn't feel them. In other words, on the one hand I've got a hemi-plegic migraine which won't let me move, and this dope in my veins which won't let me move either. :-P
Then the real fun began: I started to itch. Do I really need to tell you what it was like to have your entire circulatory system itch like the bloody hell it is and not be able to scratch any of it?
If that's tripping, then someone please burn my suitcases cuz I don't wanna go.
So the second time I went to the emergency room because of a bad hemi-plegic migraine (about 2 or 3 days later) they gave me the dope again. When I started to itch, they gave me Benedryl. Now, while I didn't get any nosebleeds, it did counteract the dope. Now I ask you: if dope is supposed to help with hemi-plegic migraines (which it sure as f*cking hell DOESN'T) and Benedryl counteracts dope...okay do I really need to ask that one? :-P
Then there's the matter of Xanax. You remember Xanax right? "Attention K-Mart shoppers! Snowshovels are on sale for $12.95. Mayday mayday mayday..." Well, just last month, my neurologist perscribed Xanax for me because he thinks that some of my seizures are actually due to me being too tense. Me? Uptight? Anybody who reads me on RASSM is probably busting out laughing right now, but I tell ya I'm tighter than anyone's ass could ever be no matter how many times they've talked to Richard Simmons. Okay so I'm slightly exaggerating, but you get the point. So, I go on Xanax and I'm drunk as a skunk for over a week. I mean, I'm talking fall down drunk who can't think straight and laughs his ass off at every little single thing.
Real pleasant isn't it? Yes, I was quite the character (aka "nice person") for that drunken week. I'm still on the stuff, but at half the dose. And I'm still a little wacked out on it. 6 Days 7 Nights wasn't too far off the mark on that stuff either. I also think my RASSM influences started to show. I'm getting influenced quite badly by Jade and Drake I think. Yeah, "oh shit!" For instance: tonight I'm watching Crimson Tide and the guy says: "...and if privacy doesn't permit, you bite your fucking tongue."
Now, normal me would say and think: "Yeah man, do as he says and shut up."
But me on Xanax at half the dose thought: "Gee, I didn't know his tongue fucked. <snickery perverted grin and near-evil laugh ...uh...'cackle'>"
If I had watched this at the full dose that I was on for that first week...well...it would be unprintable.
I also wouldn't shut the fuck up all week either. I was SO talky! I wouldn't shut up and I was LOUD too! And majorly potty-mouthed too! I was making SAILORS blush fer cryin' out loud! I mean, in real normal life, I'm a quiet and relatively polite (as in not too potty) talker, but DAMN, y'know? But then again, I'm pretty talky and don't always shut the fuck up online either anyway now do I? C'mon, be honest. Ain't this blogpost long enough for ya? ;-)
Anyway, that's that.
Feeling better about your cold medicine now DG? ;-D I sure hope you do...feel better that is. Okay shutting up now.
