Carded

While taking a break from moving the 2 offices and the house, my 2 cousins and I stopped in the hobby shop that rents from us and I got to looking at the Pokémon cards. I saw 3 Wigglytuff cards! Since the prices of the things have plumetted (sp?), that meant that I could get the Wigglytuff for only $3! So I did. :-) I also asked him if he had a Jigglypuff as well and he let me have a promo Jigglypuff one for free! :-D

Jiggly & Wiggly

I also saw that the guy had VHS's of the Star Wars trilogy just sitting there on the counter. Go ahead and pause for breath now- the tapes were of the original releases!!!! As in 1977, 1980, and 1983!!!!!! I asked him if they were for sale and apparently he didn't wanna get rid of 'em (duh). And then shortly, this other kid came in and offered to buy them off him too. I half-jokingly offered to do a bid war, but the guy's not getting rid of the tapes. I need to find some.

If George Lucas never releases the original, non-Special Edition versions of A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi on DVD then he'll be enraging and disheartening countless millions of fans and film archivists worldwide. Even if you do prefer the Special Editions, Mr. Lucas would be doing a great disservice if he didn't release the originals again.

Well, in the end, the guy at the store showed me a signed-by-Mark-Hamill poster he has and a couple of Star Wars stickers/cards from 1977. He let me have one of those for free too!

1977 Star Wars behind-the-scenes card

It reads: Movie Facts #15 of 22
In devising the special make-up, Rick Baker worked from sketches by himself, Ron Cobb, and Ralph McQuarrie. Rick Baker born in 1950, developed all of the American-shot cantina creatres; those filmed in England were created by Stuart Freeborn.

He doesn't have much Star Wars stuff in the shop and something tells me he's not that much of a fan. At least, not nearly as big a fan as my cousins, the other kids, or myself. Still, he's a nice guy! :-)
