I suppose I could collect my books and get on back to school...
So I did. :-)
After years and years of getting both jerked around by the various avenues of trying to finish school (I fell thru the cracks on that one) at long last- I'm signed up for something that's at night and can give me my high school diploma!!!
And guess what- NO HOMEWORK EITHER!!! <more cheer!> I take the first exam tomorrow evening to let me in and then it's one subject (60 hours worth) at a time until I have my last 7 credits (4 are electives) and get my diploma! :-D
Uh, for those who need updating: I got sick 2 weeks before mid-terms senior year and had to withdraw. Because I was in private school at the time, I couldn't do home-schooling and my particular school doesn't accept seniors so I couldn't re-apply. By the time I was starting to feel well enough to go back, I had already passed my 21st birthday so enrolling in public school was out of the question. I had been in nothing but accelerated subjects throughout most of my public school career and my private school was college-prep so getting a GED was more than just reaching low for me (no offense to GED-holders). I worked TOO hard and suffered TOO long (public school was hell) to just take a single GED test and be done with it.
And now I'm in!!! <cheers> School is 5-7 Tues-Thurs but since I take yoga on Mon & Wed I won't be going to school on Wed (except for testings). It's all work one subject at a time and at your own pace. By my calculations, it should take me 70 weeks to finish. And by some weird calculation on the government's part, I'll be taking the Exit Exam on my birthday *this year* (Oct 26-28). Yeah, don't make no sense to take the Exit before you take your subjects does it? We spent about 5-10 mins (or something like that) trying to get all of this figured out cuz the logic don't make no sense...but then again this IS the *government* we're talking about. No wonder SC is the last in the nation! Screwy logic!!! >:-P~
Oh well...I'm a student again! Bell's ringing!
