Homeland Security? WHAT?!

Wanna hear something weird? Someone was working on cable down the street which knocked ours out, and when I called them, the tech support gal said "for security reasons, may I have the last 4 digits of your social security number please?"

I didn't give it to her and I got my cable fixed fyi, but FOR GOODNESS SAKES! Do you really need to give the tech support guys (after lots of "for __ press 1" stuff) your SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER FOR YOUR DIGITAL CABLE?!?!

How the F&#^ is THAT gonna help with "security"?!
