Vote! Vote! Vote!

Unlike 2 years ago, the 3 of us decided to go to the polls together during the "off hours"- like say 11am. Not quite lunchtime. Well, for starters, Dad and I didn't behave much given that it was "early in the morning" and we were *in line* with no chairs and no hope of getting to vote within 30 minutes. The first person to pass us going out said the wait was about 1 hour and 20 minutes. This number steadily increased and by the time it was all over, we'd been there for about 1 hour and 50 minutes. That's a lot of standing and being very silly in the voting line.

Now as for me, there was 1 person we had to write in because for some dumb reason their name didn't get on the ballot. The US Senate race here for me was bunk because I didn't like ANYBODY so I didn't vote on that one. And the little "cheat sheet" I take in with me (my list of candidates so I don't have to memorize them) didn't fail me, but my eyes did: I forgot to transcribe one (the School District) so I didn't vote on that one either. So unlike last time where I recall voting on every issue, this time I didn't vote on 2: one because I didn't like what I saw, and one because I forgot!

I've got Brokaw on the tv and I'm watching the race results. As of right now, Kerry's got nearly all of New England, and Bush has almost all of the South plus a straight North-to-South line in the Midwest. Voting is VERY regional right now. This should be interesting...
