Linker Unfriendly

As you can see I've linked to the blog Don't Link To Us and I also maintain 2 websites that rely heavily upon links to newsarticles. Earlier this year, I was sent reeling adnd shooting thru the roof shouting various obsenities and stuff when several of my news info sources closed their gates to anyone who did not #1 register and then #2 pay up.

What? The actual physical paper not selling enough for you? You live in METROPOLISES FER CRYIN' OUT LOUD!!!!!! Why make us online folks suffer here? First you graciously oblige us by typing out stuff for us to see (and thank you very much for that), but now that's being nullified by the fact that you're now taking them away like "ok sonny, give back the present".

This is not good for your business, my websites, or anybody looking for information!!! You actually drive people away when you do that. You also drive people to do strange things to get the inaccessible info. IT'S NUTS! IT'S RIDICULOUS and it's JUST PLAIN STUPID!!!

Here's a rant specially for Variety magazine: we KNOW you've got the money- don't milk further by wanting us to pay for the online as well.

All of the above is old hat if you've been around me long enough so the new hat is this: Guardian Unlimited changed some urls and This is London has gone the way of "register & pay". There won't be ANY information left by the time this is over at this rate!!!
